Verona Arena

The Verona Arena is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman structures and well worth a visit during a trip to the Veneto. The arena is a Roman Amphitheatre that is famous not only for its incredible preservation, but also for the massive opera performances that are produced here every year. Known in Italian as Arena di Verona, this ancient amphitheatre was built in AD 30 and at the time could hold 30,000 spectators.
